Diagnostics + Service & Repair
We Find the Cause - Not Just the Symptom.
WHAT WE DIAGNOSE
Sprinklers that won't turn on - Zones that run intermittently - Valves that won't open or shut off - Electrical faults - Broken or damaged field wiring - Solenoid problems - Controller and timer problems - Transformer and module failures
Pressure and flow problems - Master valve and pump issues - Underground wire tracing - Landscape Lights that won't turn on - Lights that shut off intermittently - Transformer problems - Voltage-drop problems - Damaged or buried wiring - Short circuits and open circuits - Fixture failures - Connections and splice problems - Fountains & Water Features - Fountain won't run - Pump won't start - Low water flow - Autofill problems - Overflow problems - Water loss - Plumbing restrictions - Pump and component testing - Drainage & Water Problems - Yard flooding - Standing water - Slow drainage - Blocked drain lines - Improper drainage flow - Drain inlet and outlet problems - Irrigation leaks
Excessive water pressure - Water hammer - Outdoor Kitchens & Backyard Equipment - Outdoor electrical problems - OUTDOOR Lighting and receptacle issues - Equipment that isn't operating correctly - Visible component issues -
Landscape & Hardscape Problems - Retaining wall concerns - Concrete or tile problems - Cracking - Loose materials - Drainage-related damage - Deck and woodwork issues - Landscape structures Plant, tree and turf problems
PROFESSIONAL DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT
Some problems cannot be found simply by looking at them.
Depending on the problem, diagnostic testing may include:
Electrical Testing
Voltage, resistance, continuity, current, electrical output, voltage drop and circuit testing.
Wire Tracing & Fault Isolation
Tracing buried landscape wiring, identifying circuits, locating valves and isolating damaged wiring.
Pressure Testing
Checking irrigation and plumbing pressure to help identify restrictions, failures and abnormal system conditions.
Thermal Imaging
Infrared inspection may be used to identify abnormal temperature patterns in electrical equipment, pumps, components and other systems.
Inspection Camera Testing
Small inspection cameras may be used to see inside difficult-to-access areas where normal visual inspection is not possible.
Operational Bypass Testing
When appropriate, individual components may be temporarily bypassed or independently tested to help determine whether the component, wiring, controller or another part of the system is causing the failure.
OUR DIAGNOSTIC PROCESS
1. Listen to the Problem
You show us what isn't working and explain what you've been experiencing.
2. Basic Operational Assessment
We inspect the system and determine the logical starting point for testing.
3. Test - Don't Guess
When necessary, diagnostic instruments are used to test individual components and narrow down the failure.
4. Isolate the Cause
We follow the problem through the system until the likely source of the malfunction has been identified.
5. Explain What We Found
We explain the findings in understandable terms and discuss the appropriate repair options.
6. Repair When Authorized
Many problems can be repaired during the same visit when the necessary materials and time are available.
COMMON CALLS WE RECEIVE
“My sprinklers suddenly stopped working.”
“One irrigation zone won't come on.”
“My landscape lights keep shutting off.”
“Nobody can find the sprinkler valve.”
“There may be a broken wire somewhere underground.”
“My fountain pump runs, but there isn't enough water coming out.”
“My fountain keeps losing water.”
“My yard floods every time it rains.”
“The timer says the sprinklers are running, but nothing comes on.”
“Several things in my backyard have stopped working and I don't know who to call.”
These are exactly the types of problems that Sean investigates, diagnoses and repairs
DIAGNOSTIC SERVICE LEVELS
Service Call
Basic Operational Assessment
For straightforward service issues, minor troubleshooting and an initial assessment of the affected landscape system.
Advanced Diagnostic
Instrument-Based Testing
For problems requiring meters, pressure gauges, wire tracers, thermal imaging, inspection equipment or other diagnostic instruments to isolate the cause.
Complex Fault Isolation - Buried Wiring - Hidden Valves - Intermittent Problems
For difficult problems involving underground wiring, hidden components, intermittent failures, multiple interconnected systems or extended troubleshooting.
WHY PAY FOR DIAGNOSTICS?
Replacing parts until something starts working can quickly become more expensive than finding the actual failure.
A malfunction may look like a bad sprinkler valve when the real problem is a broken wire.
A landscape light may appear defective when the actual problem is excessive voltage drop.
A fountain pump may seem bad when the problem is a restriction, electrical issue or water-level problem.
A controller may appear to have failed when the fault is somewhere downstream.
Good diagnostics separate the symptom from the cause.
ONE CALL FOR YOUR BACKYARD
Outdoor systems often overlap.
An irrigation problem can involve electricity, plumbing and pressure.
A fountain problem can involve pumps, wiring, plumbing and water level.
An outdoor kitchen can involve electrical, water, drainage, appliances and other components.
GET YOUR BACKYARD WORKING AGAIN.
You invested a lot into your outdoor space.
When something stops working, you shouldn't have to live with it - or start replacing components blindly. Tell us what's not working.
We’ll start with the symptoms and work toward the cause.
