WHAT TYPE OF INSURANCES DO YOU CARRY?​

​

(WORKERS' COMPENSATION $1M) IS A FORM OF INSURANCE THAT PROVIDES MEDICAL CARE AND WAGE REPLACEMENT BENEFITS TO EMPLOYEES INJURED OR MADE ILL ON THE JOB, WITH EMPLOYERS PAYING THE PREMIUMS. THE FIVE BASIC BENEFITS TYPICALLY INCLUDE MEDICAL CARE, TEMPORARY DISABILITY (FOR LOST WAGES DURING RECOVERY), PERMANENT DISABILITY (FOR PARTIAL OR FULL LOSS OF FUNCTION), SUPPLEMENTAL JOB DISPLACEMENT (FOR RETRAINING), AND DEATH BENEFITS FOR DEPENDENTS IF A WORKER DIES FROM A WORK-RELATED INJURY OR ILLNESS.

 

(COMMERCIAL VEHICLE PROPERTY DAMAGE $2M) PAYS FOR THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF OTHER PEOPLE'S PROPERTY (E.G., VEHICLES, BUILDINGS, SIGNS, PERSONAL PROPERTY) IF THE CONTRACTOR OR HIS EMPLOYEE IS AT FAULT IN AN ACCIDENT WHILE DRIVING A BUSINESS VEHICLE.

 

(COMMERCIAL GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE $1M) COVERS PHYSICAL INJURY TO A PERSON OR DAMAGE TO THEIR PROPERTY THAT OCCURS BECAUSE OF CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS. (CGL) IS REQUIRED FOR MOST COMMERCIAL LANDSCAPE PROJECTS

NO, THAT IS CONSIDERED A (TIME AND MATERIALS CONTRACT) WHICH ARE NOT LEGAL IN CALIFORNIA,

 CONTRACTORS MAY ONLY OFFER (FIXED PRICE CONTRACTS) IN CALIFORNIA

 

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET A PRICE?

 

TYPICALLY, A FEW MINUTES.

 

IS THE PRICE NEGOTIABLE?

DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT MINIMUM?

YES WE HAVE A $10K MINIMUM PROJECT BUDGET.

 

DO WE NEED TO HIRE A PROFESSIONAL LANDSCAPE DESIGNER TO DRAW UP OUR PLANS?

 

SEAN IS A CERTIFIED LANDSCAPE DESIGNER WITH THE NEW YORK INSTITUTE OF ART AND DESIGN. UNLESS ENGINEERING CALCS ARE REQUIRED WE CAN DESIGN THE PLANS FOR CITY/HOA APPROVAL.

 

DO YOU HIRE SUBCONTRACTORS?

 

NO SUBCONTRACTORS ARE HIRED AT ANY TIME DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS;

 

DO YOU OFFER LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE WHEN THE PROJECT IS COMPLETE.

 

AS A DESIGN-BUILD CONTRACTOR, WE DO NOT OFFER ANY WEEKLY OR MONTHLY MAINTENANCE SERVICES,

FOR BEST RESULTS CONSULT WITH A LOCAL LANDSCAPE GARDENER.

 

DO WE NEED PERMITS OR HOA APPROVAL?

 

IN CERTAIN CASES SUCH AS GAS, ELECTRIC, SEWER, RETAINING-WALLS, PATIO COVERS ETC... BEFORE YOU CAN PULL PERMITS THE CITY/COUNTY TYPICALLY REQUIRES A COPY OF THE HOA APPROVAL LETTER. SOME LANDSCAPE PERMITS ALSO REQUIRE ENGINEERING, FIRE AUTHORITY AND/OR COASTAL COMMISSION APPROVAL.

 

HOW DOES THE PROCESS TYPICALLY WORK ONCE WE DECIDE TO MOVE FORWARD?

 

TO RETAIN OUR SERVICES, WE SIGN A LANDSCAPE DESIGN AGREEMENT, THEN WE BEGIN TO DRAFT THE PLANS FOR HOA AND START PROCURMENT OF ANY NECESSARY CITY/COUNTY PERMITS. ONCE COMPLETED, WE BEGIN THE MATERIAL DELIVERY AND MOBILIZATION PHASE WHICH INCLUDES DELIVERING EQUIPMENT, TRACTORS, PORTABLE RESTROOMS, TOOLS AND MATERIALS. IF NEEDED A COMPLIMENTARY 30’ ELECTRIC CAR EXTENSION IS AVAILABLE FOR CUSTOMERS TO CHARGE CARS PARKED OUTSIDE OF GARAGE.

 

DO YOU OFFER FINANCING?

 

YES, BECAUSE MOST HOA’S REQUIRE LANDSCAPING TO BE COMPLETED WITHIN 3-6 MONTHS AFTER CLOSE OF ESCROW, FINANCING HELPS EXPEDITE THE PROCESS FOR NEW HOMEOWNERS.
